STRATEGIC LINES OF BILATERAL RELATIONS BETWEENBOLIVIA AND RUSSIA IN THE PERIOD (2016-2024)

This research analyzes the strategic lines of bilateral relations between Bolivia and Russia during the period 2016-2024, focusing on energy cooperation, technical-military collaboration, trade, science, technology, education-culture, and politics-diplomacy. Using a qualitative approach and a theoretical framework based on realism in international relations, it examines how national interests and power dynamics influenced the implementation of agreements. The results identify energy cooperation as the main axis, highlighting projects such as the Bolivian Nuclear Energy Agency (ABEN) and hydrocarbon exploration with the Public Limited Company Gazprom (GAZPROM). However, obstacles such as economic asymmetries, internal political instability, and international regulatory constraints are evident. The study concludes with the need to strengthen monitoring systems, diversify the economic base of cooperation, and foster strategic autonomy to consolidate a sustainable relationship in the global South context.
